How can you make a difference: The CAP Section in UNICEF Nigeria Country Office is seeking to hire a qualified consultant to design a general studies curriculum and repurpose the current Child Rights Reporting curriculum for use in polytechnics in Nigeria. The general studies curriculum will apply to all students in the polytechnic while the repurposed Child Rights Reporting curriculum will apply to students of mass communication.
Key Deliverables:
- Design a new curriculum on child rights to improve the understanding of polytechnic students of child rights issues.
- Review, revise, and adapt the current curriculum on child rights reporting for mass communication students in the universities in Nigeria to suit the needs of polytechnic students.
- Train teachers of participating polytechnics on how to use the curricula.
Qualification & Experience:
- Minimum of eight years of experience in teaching at the university level, development and knowledge management work.
- Experience in designing curriculum for tertiary institutions required
- A solid knowledge and understanding of the child/human rights and international development environment.
- Knowledge of the Convention on the rights of the child and Child Rights Act desirable.
- Facilitation skills required
- Good knowledge and experience with social and development issues
- Ability to deliver timely and high-quality products under tight deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills, including initiative, flexibility, and patience.
- Organizational and coordination skills.
- The ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines to deliver products on time;
- Experience with UNICEF is desirable
- Fluency in written and spoken English
