IITA Job Vacancy 2021
Job Purpose: Provide technical support to small and medium scale processors on processing and utilization of diverse and nutrient dense crop products. Conduct Training of Trainers workshops and community level demonstrations for households on the development, processing, and utilization of diverse and nutrient dense crops products. Undertake Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) campaigns and Counselling in Borno State particularly the five Activity LGAs of Bayo, Biu, Hawul, Kwaya Kusar and Shani to reduce malnutrition among farming households. Work with non-governmental organizations and community-based organizations to disseminate technologies on legumes processing and utilization of different location specific crops.
Competencies :
The ideal candidate must:
- Have exceptional understanding of issues related to food and nutrition in the
- relevant states.
- Have ability to work under minimal supervision and with tight deadlines.
- Must have excellent people skills and the ability to work in a collaborative
- multicultural environment.
- Have ability to deliver accurate and timely reports.
- Have ability to travel extensively within the relevant state and work long hours.
- Be able to communicate in one or more of northern Nigeria’s major languages.
Qualification:
- Essential: BSc/HND in in Nutrition, Food science/Technology, or related field.
- Desirable: Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in a well-structured environment or donor funded organization.
