Purpose and Objectives of the Documentary: As part of achieving expected result 3 which is making sure that communication and awareness of PVE and DDRR programming are enhanced through the development and dissemination of conflict-sensitive media programs aimed at promoting the implementation of ongoing PCVE and DDRR programs in North-East Nigeria, Search will engage produce a Film Company/Consultant to produce a video documentary which will showcase testimonials of real-life beneficiaries on ongoing DDRR efforts by the Government of Nigeria (GoN). Other objectives are specified below:
- The documentary will promote awareness of the benefits of Disengagement, Disassociation, Reintegration, and Reconciliation (DDRR)
- It will also enhance the visibility of ongoing DDRR and PCVE efforts for increased acceptance of repentant ex-combatants who are being integrated into the communities.
- It should also contribute to enhancing collaboration between the state and federal governments and promoting trust between the governments, civil society, and other relevant actors supporting GoN on DDRR.
- It should also tackle misinformation and misunderstanding around PVE and DDRR thereby creating positive dialogue around DDRR and peace-related issues.
Qualification & Experience:
- Proficiency in Kanuri and Hausa (written and spoken);
- More than 7 years of experience in filming and producing top-notch quality documentaries for International donor organizations;
- Specialization in documentaries related to Preventing Violent Extremism (PVE) and Disengagement, Disassociation, Reintegration, and Reconciliation (DDRR)
- Familiarity and experience with the BAY regions in Nigeria.
- Must be registered with the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFCVB) or its equivalent
