Concern Worldwide Job Vacancy 2023

Purpose: The purpose of this position is to provide technical oversight and management to Concern Worldwide’s WASH programme in Unity State. The WASH Programme Manager will provide support on both hardware and software project components and ensure all programming is implemented in line with proposal, project plans and Concern worldwide principles and standards. The WASH Programme Manager will also lead on the design and development of new projects and engage with donors, local government, state Government, communities and other stakeholders at state level.

Required skills and experience will include

Essential:

  • This position demands a highly organized and dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding environment.
  • BSc in Water Engineering, Civil Engineering, or any related Engineering field.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in a humanitarian field including at least 2 years at management level.
  • Thorough technical knowledge of water supply construction/ maintenance and Sanitation facilities (borehole drilling, hand dug wells, low cost sanitation etc.)
  • Experience with household level sanitation, sustainability of water points, training of WASH committees, hygiene promotion, community mobilization, participatory planning and environmental conservation.
  • Good capacity in community mobilization and knowledge of participatory approaches.
  • Experience and knowledge of solid waste management in IDP Camp settings.
  • Proven success in implementing community based and led hygiene and sanitation behaviour change.
  • Experience with water testing and analysis.
  • Experience in report and proposal writing.
  • Proven budget management skills.
  • Knowledge and Experience on using engineering software including AutoCAD and GIS is a must.
  • Experience working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders including local authorities, partners, and other I/NGOs.
  • Good team player, flexible and politically and culturally sensitive.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in insecure environments
  • Experience of work in South Sudan (camp setting)/ Horn of Africa region
