Eligibility Criteria

Education:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited academic institution preferably in Law, Development Studies, Anthropology, Conflict and Peace Studies, Political Science or Business Administration with two years relevant experience; or
  • University Degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience

Experience:

  • Experience developing, implementing, monitoring and/or supporting durable solutions projects and programs in complex post-conflict and/or transitional settings;
  • Experience in project coordination with several stakeholders in politically complex and operationally challenging environments;
  • Experience in, and knowledge of, the application of the triple nexus approach in the context of durable solutions programming; and
  • Good experience in multi-stakeholder liaison, engagement and collaboration, including UN, NGO, civil society, Government institutions, local authorities and affected communities.

Skills:

  • Excellent coordination skills;
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to harmoniously collaborate with variety of internal and external stakeholders;
  • Proven ability to deliver results and achieve measurable impact in context of operational complexity;
  • Excellent communication skills, including outstanding writing skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills including the ability to address problems pro-actively and creatively, foresee and mitigate risks and overcome operational challenges as they arise; and,
  • Proven ability to successfully operate in high-stress environments and maintain high professional standards in hardship locations.

Languages:

  • IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.
  • For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
  • Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
