The UNDP has published a job vacancy announcement on 21st April 2022 for qualified South Sudanese to fill in the vacant post of PBF Coordination Specialist to be based in Juba, South Sudan.

UNDP Job Vacancy 2022

Position Purpose: The principal responsibility of the PBF Coordination Specialist is to ensure the PBF Secretariat fulfills its mandate and PBF financed projects are implemented in the country. The PBF Coordination Specialist will be directly supervised by the Head of the RCO with overall supervision by the DSRSG/RC/HC, to whom he/she will directly report on the PBF Secretariat related tasks, and he/she will actively support the DSRSG/RC/HC’s coordination role as defined in the revised “Terms of Reference” and “Management and Accountability Framework”. The PBF Coordination Specialist will also have a matrixed reporting line directly to the PBF, through the programme officer working on South Sudan. The PBF Coordination Specialist will also support the UNCT and PMT to identify, develop and implement PBF projects, to support the DSRSG/RC/HC’s role as Steering Committee Co-chair and to support the functioning of the Steering Committee.

Eligibility Criteria

Education:

• Advanced university degree (Master’s Degree) or equivalent in economics, political sciences, management, international development, or in a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive and relevant experience, in project management or coordination or programme development, including at least 3 years in conflict prevention and peacebuilding.
• Experience in conflict analysis and conflict-sensitive programming.
• Extensive knowledge of PBF processes is desirable.
• Relevant experience in programme management and results-based approach.
• Experience conducting consultations with Government and donors.
• Team supervision and leadership experience.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills, specifically with high-level interlocutors, to liaise with Government and international organizations.
• Monitoring and evaluation experience.
• Good understanding of questions related to human rights, gender, women and youth empowerment in peacebuilding is desirable.
• Previous UN experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of the peacebuilding problematic in the country is an advantage.

Language Requirements:

• Written and spoken fluency in English is required
