UNMISS Job Vacancy 2023
Org. Setting and Reporting: This position is based in Juba and located in the United Nations Missions in South Sudan (UNMISS) within the Safety and Security Section, located Juba Wich is classified as an “E” hardship duty station and a non- family duty station. The Chief of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is at the FS-7 level reports to the Principal Security Adviser (PSA), on all security investigation tasks and related matters.
Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- High school diploma, equivalent technical or vocational certificate is required.
Job – Specific Qualification:
- Formal qualifications and/or certificates in investigations from the United Nations is desirable.
- Formal qualifications and/or certificates in investigations or obtained through service with military, police, security, other governmental or international agencies and organizations or private enterprise investigative firms is desirable.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of twelve (12) years with high school diploma of progressively responsible experience in the military, police or security management is required. The minimum years are reduced to 7 years for candidates who possess a first level university degree.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in investigation management and administration together with supervisory function is required.
- At least one year experience and exposure in a conflict or post conflict environment at international level is desirable.
Languages:
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English, both oral and written are required.
