WHO Job Vacancy 2022
Purpose of the Position: In the context of WHO South Sudan’s COVID-19 Incident Management System (IMS), the incumbent will support the South Sudan Ministry of Health in the coordination, planning, and implementation of relevant preparedness and response measures for COVID-19 and any other emerging diseases. In particular, the support will focus on the epidemiological surveillance pillar, in relevant fora like the Public Health Emergency Operation Centre (PHEOC), Technical Working Groups (TWGs) and the National Steering Committee (NSC).
Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- Essential: A university degree (Bachelors or above) in epidemiology, statistics, database management or public health from an accredited/recognized institute.
- Desirable: Master’s degree in health-related field. Specialized training in communicable diseases.
Experience:
- Essential: At least 3 years in disease surveillance, data management and in quantitative epidemiology and the implementation of public health surveillance, outbreak investigation and response.
- Desirable: Experience in working with UN or INGOs in disease surveillance program in South Sudan.
Other Skills: (e.g. IT)
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Working knowledge of online data collection applications, statistical analysis packages (Stata, SPSS, etc).
- Working knowledge of GIS mapping software (or similar) would be an asset.
