Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- Master’s degree in Law, Governance areas, Peace building, Social Sciences, development studies or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of progressive work experience in the field of Governance and Peace building in thematic areas such as access to justice, rule of law, conflict management and response, human rights, accountability and civic engagement.
- Experience in Programme and Project development and management; including planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder liaison.
- Research, analysis, policy formulation and advocacy experience.
- Preparation of knowledge products such as analytical papers, concept and reports.
- Sound analytical knowledge in the thematic areas of Governance and Peace with focus political, legal, social, cultural and other relevant issues.
- Good planning, facilitation skills, communication skills with an ability to transfer knowledge and skills in institutional environment.
- Proven ability to work effectively with people at all levels of an organization, maximizing coordination and cooperation e.g., in an internal organization, with Government, a Non-Government Organization or Consultancy Firm.
- Demonstrated ability to draft, edit and produce results-focused reports and technical papers.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, good knowledge and experience in handling of web-based information management systems.
Language:
- Proficiency in oral and written English
- Working knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.
