IGCP South Africa looking for “Training and Development Associate”.

IGCP was formed in 1991 to address the long-term conservation of the mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) and its regional Afromontane Forest habitat in the Virunga Bwindi Landscape. Our aim has been to work together as a single gorilla conservation program in order to expand and consolidate the successes of the Mountain Gorilla Project and other initiatives at a regional level.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the project manager and team to execute
- Collaborate with the whole project team, contributing to the entire project lifecycle
- Organize and monitor schedules and see that deadlines are met
- Coordinate efforts within the team and with outside consultants efficiently
- Report updates verbally and in written form to management
- Monitor budget and help ensure resources are used efficiently
- Help discern requirements and assign tasks to team members
- Complete any necessary administrative tasks, such as research and email
- Demonstrate commitment to clients’ needs and confidentiality continuously
- Develop annual training and development plans
- Assess training needs of staff and youth
- Sourcing of training for staff and youth needs
- Oversee deliver of work readiness trainings, development days and ensure that youth also receive role specific trainings.
- Ensure development of training programmes and training tools and processes
- Support HR in the development of annual skills development plans.
- Maintain accreditation with HWSETA and QCTO.
- Ensure that the accredited training programmes are delivered to standard and in compliance with set rules.
- Maintain training records for compliance and auditing.
- Compile regular reports
- Keep up to date with development in the training and development field
- Any other duties, as assigned by the line manager, in line with the role.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrable empathy, compassion and an understanding of the cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in the community
- SA citizen or valid work permit to work in South Africa
- Drivers licence
- Moderate travel (up to 40%) by land or air if required
- Willing to work overtime
- Computer literacy (Ms Office)
- Understanding of the usage of social media for non-profit organisations
- Ability to work in a team and under pressure and a demonstrated willingness to learn new things.
