Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)

  • Support COs in the inclusion of all the relevant new outcome, output and crosscutting indicators that are part of the 2022-25 Corporate Results Framework within their logframes and associated data collection tools by Q4/2023.
  • Support COs in pilot-testing of new outcome indicators as well as in the identification and development of new Country Specific indicators.
  • Ensure that all COs have set adequate baseline and target values against all the relevant new outcome and crosscutting indicators within their logframes by Q2/2023.
  • Track the number of COs using the corporate Data Quality Guidance and establish processes, including refresher training, to ensure COs use the guidance as part of their monitoring system.
  • Support and facilitate COs to adopt the Guidance note on Estimating Tier 2 and Tier 3 Beneficiaries when requested by the CO.
  • Ensure COs align with the RAM Position Paper on Data Stratification and Disaggregation in CO monitoring and reporting (including the collection of sex-, age- and disability-disaggregated data to ensure programmes are inclusive).
  • Assess CO and Field Office staff’s capacity to collect, analyze and report on qualitative data and build staff’s capacity in qualitative data methodologies.
  • Any other duty assigned that are within the scope of Evidence Generation and Monitoring.

Eligibility Criteria

Education:

  • Advanced University degree in social sciences, political science, statistics, development economics, performance management.

Work Experience:  

  • 3 years of post-graduate work experience

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Familiarity with WFP programme design, implementation and operational challenges in food security and/or nutrition operations. Previous experience working in Southern Africa is a plus.
  • Knowledge and previous experience in monitoring. Relevant knowledge of evidence generation processes.
  • Strong knowledge of qualitative research methods and qualitative monitoring, demonstrated through completion of relevant trainings and research outputs.
  • Strong data analysis skills and experience using statistical softwares (Stata, SPSS).
  • Data visualization skills, including knowledge of Tableau Analytics and other relevant applications (e.g.: web-based databases,) to organize, analyze, share and use of monitoring data.
  • Experience in knowledge management and preparation of knowledge products.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) including ability to present ideas and generate feedback from a variety of audience
  • Ability to draft clear and succinct reports.
  • Quick to learn, able to take initiative.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Self-confidence and creativity.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English Language is required. Intermediate knowledge of a second UN language is a plus.
