IUCN Job Vacancy 2021
The IUCN water programme aims to help governments with the implementation of resilient water supply systems through effective, sustainable water governance and environmental water management, with specific focus on the restoration and protection of catchments and the mapping and strategy development for natural water infrastructure (NbS for disaster risk reduction and water security). The IUCN Water Programme, which focuses on implementing IWRM using an ecosystems approach, will be key in the achievement of these objectives
Eligibility criteria
Education and Work Experience:
- Familiarity with stakeholder engagement approaches, in theory and in practice
- Knowledge of integrated water resources management principles
- A broad understanding of water governance, especially transboundary water management
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in a project context, preferably in the non-profit sector
- A graduate qualification, in the field of water management or development studies
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Fluency in at least one local languages in the BUPUSA basins [Shona, Sena]
- Working knowledge of another regional language is advantageous
