Duties
- Be a resource to the Protection Pillar activities in the UNHCR Regional Bureau with focus ¿ but not limited to – on community-based protection, education, and economic inclusion.
- Help preparing the Regional Protection meeting taking place in September; this will include following up on `to do lists¿, support preparing thematic session, help prepare visuals, keep colleagues abreast of progress, organize communication and keep record of responses to invitations as well as of speakers.
- Support in organizing other events related to the pillars work.
- Work closely with Protection staff on researching data and information, compiling information in documents and visuals and drafting documents and communication.
- Specifically support research on the rights LGBTIQ+ persons and legal frameworks in the region, as well as on social norms and role of civil society.
- Conduct research on initiatives, studies, articles, events, etc. related to economic inclusion and synthesize materials to build evidence base.
- Support the protection pillar in consolidating quarterly education statistical reports including country specific factsheets.
- Support the Protection Pillars in Complementary pathways work.
- Assist in day to day tasks.
- Perform other duties as required.
Eligibility criteria:
Education & Professional Work Experience:
- Degree in Law, Social Sciences, (International Relations, Political Science), or other relevant degree.
- Excellent knowledge of information management tools, ability to produce spreadsheets, organize information and produce visual summaries.
- Good command of drafting, communication, and presentation skills.
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office.
Language Requirements:
- Knowledge of English and/or UN working language of the duty station if not English. Knowledge of French and/or Portuguese would be an asset.
