WFP Job Vacancy 2021
Job Purpose: To contribute to the development of long-term partnerships with the private sector in order to advocate the work of WFP, and raise and mobilise resources to support food assistance programmes.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive):
- Provide dedicated support to the Country Office on business development planning, prospecting and implementation. This includes developing documents from scratch as well as editing draft documents.
- Deliver a comprehensive private sector stakeholders mapping.
- Support the Country Office in a separate outreach plan for business development which looks at both corporations that have a regional footprint as well as national private sector players, which can allow the Country Office to access strategic funds and support.
- Proactively highlight strategic issues to Head of Partnerships and Senior Management and propose options for the best course of action to nurture trust and partnership growth.
- Provide inputs to development of partnerships strategies, including Partnership Action Plans.
- Contribute to the preparation of strategic agreements, joint strategies and MOUs in order to promote the SDGs and Zero Hunger on the national, regional and global agenda and to reach advantageous outcomes for WFP.
- Maintain a database of existing and prospective partners across the Country Office.
- Develop factsheet and quality communication materials needed to showcase the work in the CO in consultation with the CAM unit and working collaboratively with internal programme focal points and experts to identify and create compelling materials and value propositions, bespoke for the private sector audience.
- To disseminate business development materials with the Country Office to support their business development planning.
- Any other tasks as assigned
Qualification & Experience:
- Advanced University degree, or University degree with additional experience and training/courses, in one or more of the following disciplines: marketing, international development, communications and social sciences.
- A minimum of five (5) years demonstrated experience in a partnership development and/or business development. The ideal candidate will have experience in both the development and humanitarian sector while also have experience or a strong network in the business or foundations sector.
