Objectives of The Assignment
- The African Development Bank seeks expressions of interest from a suitably qualified individual consultant to lead the bank’s private sector work in Zimbabwe, focusing on deepening and increasing the bank’s foot print in the country. The consultant will carry out in depth analysis of sectoral opportunities, risks, and explore prospects for direct lending, and risk sharing in targeted sectors. The consultant will also provide technical support on the evaluation of eligible project proposals, development of the commercial deal pipeline especially in the high 5s, and support the internal review and processing of related lending transactions.

Qualification:
The Private Sector, Infrastructure, and Industrialization (PIVP) Complex hereby invites suitably qualified individual consultants to submit their interest in providing the services described above. The consultant should:
- Have strong understanding of the Zimbabwe economy, private sector dynamics in the country and the sub-region.
- Have strong analytical skills, and able to develop a commercial deal pipeline, and identify risks and opportunities for the bank in the country and sub region.
- Have excellent coordination, networking, communication and report writing skills with a proven ability to work without close supervision.
- A good understanding of the banking sector in Zimbabwe and the sub region.
- Be familiar with the work of development finance institution in the country, and general business environment in Zimbabwe and sub region.
- Have a good understanding of international financial flows into the Zimbabwean economy, and sectoral interest of international investors.
- At least seven (7) years of relevant experience spanning private sector engagement, development of commercial deal pipeline, sectoral and risk analysis, environmental scan, and transactional evaluation or development bank environment.
- Masters’ degree in Business Administration/Management, Economics, International Trade, Accounting, Finance or relevant discipline.
