Accountabilities:

Assessment, Program Design and Planning

  • In association with the relevant Thematic Lead, the Project Coordinator ensures that sound plans and budgets are developed and monitoring mechanisms put in place for the FutureMakers project.
  • Ensures the PAM/Thematic Lead, is kept informed about progress on assessment, project plan, project plans and implementation, progress reports, and other significant developments.
  • Provides technical assistance on the development of all project implementation plans and budgets within the framework of donor guidelines.
  • Ensures that Child Protection standards are adhered to Plan by staff, partners and implementing parties.
  • The Project Coordinator is responsible to ensure that all Plan interventions have a clear focus on girls, boys and adolescents, with adequate situational analysis and solutions that promote children’s access to their basic rights, ensuring child participation and non-discrimination

Qualification:

  • A degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Development Studies, Agriculture or related discipline
  • A relevant post graduate qualification desirable
  • A minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience at a similar level preferably in an NGO environment
  • Understanding of integrated development issues and critical analysis of child poverty
  • Knowledge of strategic planning processes and theories of child-rights programming
  • Knowledge of development issues, trends, challenges, opportunities and implications to community development

  • Knowledge and skills: knowledge of Plan policies and procedures, NGO Code of Conduct. Requires general finance, administration, information management and telecommunication skills and proficiency in information technology/ computer skills.
