Duties and Responsibilities:
Scope of the Work
- The Consortium will develop a gender-sensitive training manual on flood monitoring and flood early warning technologies. The training manual will build capacity of technical personnel and decision-makers from National Directorate for Water Resource Management (DNGRH), National Institute for Disaster Risk Management and Reduction (INGD) and National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) all in Mozambique, the Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA), the Department of Civil Protection (DCP) and the Meteorological Services Department (MSD) in Zimbabwe, in flood forecasting and early warning systems.

Qualification:
- Advanced university degree (at least Master’s degree) in Disaster Risk Reduction & Management (DRRM) or environment, natural resources management, or any relevant field.
- Candidates with a PhD degree in a relevant field will have an added advantage.
- At least 10 years of experience working in disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) with either Mozambique or Zimbabwe government, UN agencies, development partners, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in natural hazards, disasters, climate change, resilient infrastructure, and disaster risk management is required.
- Professional/technical skills in DRR trainings with cross-cutting issues such as gender, sociocultural, and socioeconomic aspects are required.
- Professional experience in the development of training manuals and the delivery of high-level trainings in the relevant field
- Excellent English communication and writing skills
- A knowledge of Portuguese will be an added advantage
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience working in a team
- Excellent command in designing and executing audience-focused trainings, workshops and seminars
