How can you make a difference?
UNICEF Zimbabwe is inviting applications for an individual consultant to provide technical engineering support which is required to oversee the design and construction of water and sanitation infrastructure interventions in targeted communities in Matabeleland South Province and to ensure WASH activities are well coordinated with district, provincial and national government counterparts and implementing partners.

Qualification:
- Advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required, Environmental Health, Civil Engineering, Hydro(geo)logy, Water Management, Sanitation Engineering or other related technical field with 5 years progressive experience in WASH in developing countries.
- A first university degree in a relevant field, combined with 8 years progressive professional experience maybe accepted in lieu of an advanced degreeAt least five years of progressive experience in WASH in developing countries.
- Excellent technical knowledge and experience in the planning, design and rehabilitation of water and sanitation infrastructure, piped water systems and borehole development; deployment in emergency context will be an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, hygiene promotion and/or social mobilisation.
- Experience working with UN agencies and/or NGO and demonstrated ability to work in complex environment.
- Proven experience of working in liaison with broad range of stakeholders including inter-alia, government agencies, international organizations, and development partners for the delivery of WASH services in humanitarian situations
- Required – Fluency in English. Knowledge of Ndebele is required (verbal and written)
