Description of task: Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the HHD National Specialist or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV National Specialist IGI will: 1. Provide programmatic support to the Project focusing on the achievement of the following results: With support and oversight from the HHD Specialist, the overall work of the UN National Specialist will be to ensure that UNDP and its partners receive technical support as required to implement the IGI project activities in Zimbabwe. The UN National Specialist assists the HHD Specialist to ensure the provision of effective and efficient programme activities by Providing technical and logistical support to a national consultant in their research and preparation of a baseline report and strategic options paper related to LGBTI inclusion in Zimbabwe, including;

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, and or Public Health, and or Development Studies, and or Governance and Rights and or any other related fields.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in Human Rights, Governance or other relevant programmes. Experience working in the UN or other international development organization is an asset;
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and advance knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling web-based management systems. Previous UNDP/LPP experience would be an added advantage
  • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formlation, reporting skills;
  • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development;
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;
