Responsibilities:

  • Lead the process of drafting the draft CDS document, coordinating with AACA and WRI.
  • Organize and conduct stakeholder engagements, capturing diverse perspectives and ensuring inclusivity.
  • Collaborate closely with the working group to refine and improve the document.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Ensure the document aligns with Addis Ababa’s development goals and addresses its specific challenges.
  • Review and incorporate feedback from AACA, WRI, and stakeholders.
  • Present the final draft to the relevant authorities and stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD with 5years experience (or more than 10years experience with MSc) in urban studies, in Urban Planning, Urban Development, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in urban development, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with urban issues in Ethiopia and experience working with government offices in Addis Ababa.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to use data to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, and international organizations.
  • Experience in facilitating workshops and engaging stakeholders in participatory processes is desirable.
  • Fluency in English is required.
