CIFOR Job Vacancy 2023
Overview: The Communications Specialist will actively communicate about key CIMMYT projects in Africa on a regular basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communication and media support.
- Work closely with the country representative and CIMMYT comms colleagues in the region and at the HQ to provide communication and media support to promote activities and research outputs/findings related to country and regional projects.
- Provide communications support for prioritized special events/workshops/meetings and conferences.
- Partnerships. Work with scientists and partners to visit farmers and on-station trials to write impact stories.
Qualification & Experience:
- Minimum of a master’s degree in journalism, Communications, or related discipline.
- 3 years of experience in science communications, marketing, public relations, media campaigns, and/or nonprofit communications.
- Non-profit organization experience or demonstrated understanding of the non-profit and/or agricultural research for development environments.
