UNODC Job Vacancy 2023

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a summary document of the consultations conducted and a power point presentation of the Strategic Framework for Eastern Africa.
  • Validation: the consultant shall facilitate a validation meeting with Member States and relevant regional organizations.
  • The Consultant will then integrate the comments and guidance received from Member States, regional organizations as well as UNODC to produce a final version of the report.
  • The Consultant will hold weekly consultations with ROEA to review progress and results achieved. The Consultant is expected to initiate direct contact with relevant key internal and external counterparts in order to complete the assignment.

Qualification & Experience:

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in law, international development, public policy, political and social sciences, international affairs or related field- is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible professional work experience at the international or national level in the field of public policy, governance, policy development and analysis, research, rule of law or related field is required.
  • Strong communication skills and abilities to convey complex messages to a wider audience clearly is desirable.
  • Excellent drafting skills in English is desirable.
  • Experience in the United Nations or another international organization is desirable.

Languages:

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
