The United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) is a United Nations peacekeeping force in Abyei, which is contested between the Republic of Sudan and the Republic of South Sudan. UNISFA was approved on 27 June 2011 by the United Nations Security Council in United Nations Security Council Resolution 1990 after a flareup in the South Kordofan conflict earlier in June 2011.

Org. Setting and Reporting: This position is located in the Conduct and Discipline Section of the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), duty station Abyei. The incumbent will report directly to the Chief of Section, Conduct and Discipline or their designate.
Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in the field of social sciences, political science, law, human rights, human resources management, or other related fields. A first-level university degree, in combination with relevant academic qualifications and qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible working experience in positions in the field of conduct and discipline, law, human rights and/or human resources management is required.
- Experience with the application of UN rules and regulations related to conduct and discipline is required.
- Experience in design and roll out of Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) simulation exercises is required.
- Experience working in a conflict and post conflict environment is required.
- Experience developing and managing communications and public information strategies is desirable.
- Familiarity with administrative, labor, criminal and/or military law and principles is desirable.
- Experience working with databases and using database applications for the comprehensive management of data on training and risk assessments is required
Languages:
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required; knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
