The United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) is a United Nations peacekeeping force in Abyei, which is contested between the Republic of Sudan and the Republic of South Sudan. UNISFA was approved on 27 June 2011 by the United Nations Security Council in United Nations Security Council Resolution 1990 after a flareup in the South Kordofan conflict earlier in June 2011.

UNISFA Job Vacancy 2024
Org. Setting and Reporting: The position is located in the Finance and Budget Unit of the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), duty station Abyei. The incumbent will report to the Chief of Unit, Finance and Budget or their designate.
Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, public administration, finance or in a related area is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience in accounting, budget or finance may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in finance, budget, business administration or related area is required.
- Experience in cost management, budget formulation financial monitoring, accounting, audit, financial reporting or other related areas is required.
- Experience working with international or multi-national organizations is required.
- Experience working in a volatile, conflict or post conflict settings is desirable.
- Experience in translating strategies into financial plans and operations is desirable.
Languages:
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required; knowledge of the other is desirable.
