Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- Master’s Degree in Information Management Information systems, Data Science, GIS or related field OR A first-level university degree in any of these fields, in combination with two additional years of qualifying hands-on work experience in information management and analysis, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Additional study related to technology for information management (e.g. GIS certification, Graphics design certification) is highly desirable.
Experience:
- Up to two years with a master’s degree or two years with a Bachelor’s degree of progressively responsible experience in information management, information systems, data analysis, database management, geographic information systems & mapping, and/or data visualization is required.
- In-depth knowledge of industry-standard GIS, data analysis and visualization, data management, and graphics design software, including but not limited to Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and ArcGIS. PowerBi and advanced Microsoft Excel are required.
- Experience managing information in disaster response or complex emergency settings is required.
- At least two years of experience working on humanitarian IM-related projects is required.
- Relevant experience within a humanitarian organization in the UN system or a similar international or national organization is required.
- Experience in developing and managing Activity Info databases and forms is desirable.
- Experience in assessment coordination is desirable.
- Experience managing common operational datasets is desirable.
- Experience in working on OCHA core information products (e.g. humanitarian snapshots, humanitarian dashboards, appeal documents, etc.) is desirable.
Language requirements:
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is highly desirable.
