UNMISS Job Vacancy 2023
Org. Setting and Reporting: The position is located within the Movement Control Section of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) in Juba. The incumbent reports directly to Movement Control Officer.
Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or Doctorate degree, or equivalent) in logistics or related fields is required. A first-level degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in the specified field of studies with four years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Job – Specific Qualification:
- A valid driver’s license and ability to drive manual transmission vehicles are required. Please attach copy of your valid driving license.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in movement control, multi-modal transportation, airline operations, logistics management or a related field is required.
- Experience in the provision of reliable, cost effective and efficient movement control services for the transportation of passengers and cargo (including dangerous goods requiring special handling) within the area of responsibility is required.
- Experience in the implementation of quality control procedures for specific work processes is required.
- Experience in liaising with UN agencies, government and non-government organizations, intergovernmental agencies and vendors for the provision of assigned transport support elements is required.
- Experience in liaising with government customs authorities and freight forwarders for the import/export of United Nations owned and contingent-owned supplies, material and equipment is required.
Languages:
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position(s) advertised, fluency in English and Arabic are required.
