UNMISS Job Vacancy 2023

Org. Setting and Reporting: This position is located in Juba, within the Contingent Owned Equipment (COE) Unit under the umbrella of the Mission Support Centre in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS). Juba is classified as an “E” hardship duty station and a non-family duty station. The Contingent Owned Equipment Assistant at this level reports directly to the Chief of the COE unit or the COE Operations Officer. This position supports the implementation and management of the MOUs in the field between the United Nations (UN), Troop Contributing Countries (TCCs) and Police Contributing Countries (PCCs).

Eligibility Criteria

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Job – Specific Qualification:

  • Certification/diploma or other supplemental academic/military qualifications is desirable.
  • Training in a logistics related discipline, i.e., transport, engineering, operations management, supply chain management or related field is desirable.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in managing logistics operations in the field is required.
  • Proven experience and ability to draft SOPs, briefs and reports is required.
  • Experience providing services to or in a field operation of the United Nations Common System or a comparable international organization is desirable.
  • Proven experience in managing database is desirable.

Languages:

  • English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
