Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Represent AutRC towards URCS senior management, ICRC, IFRC and other Movement Partners, as well as external stakeholders
  • Manage projects to support refugees and host communities in various parts of Uganda
  • Coordinate project management and communication of other AutRC supported projects
  • Together with URCS lead on the development of programmes based on strategic priorities and the needs in country
  • Identify strategic program initiatives and provide leadership in formulating proposals and budgets
  • Ensure financial supervision, quality control and monitoring of AutRC supported programs in Uganda, and provide regular progress reports to the AutRC HQ
  • Introduce innovation and best practices to enhance program and operational performance
  • Lead and manage the AutRC Delegation to Uganda including all administrative issues and ensure a proper security set-up.

Position in Organization:

  • Job Location: Kampala, Uganda
  • Working time: Full-time employment
  • Salary: Monthly salary for this position of min. € 4.400 gross depending on qualification and experience.
  • Duration of assigment: 1 year starting in July 2023
  • Application deadline: 08.05.2023

Qualification:

  • Austrian (or EU) work permit is required
  • At least five years international humanitarian and/or development experience (NGO, IO or Charity) at programme management level including experience in a RC/RC National Society, IFRC or ICRC
  • Degree or diploma in development studies, project management or other relevant field
  • Excellent project and finance management skills (including budgeting and budget control)
  • Work experience in the Eastern Africa region is an asset
  • Excellent English skills, German and/or French would be an asset
  • Teamplayer and cultural sensitive personality
  • Strong experience in people management, managing and supporting staff
  • Able to work under pressure and lead a multicultural team in complex and demanding environments
  • Strongly motivated by humanitarian and development work, and high sensitivity to diversity.
