Key Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management, Design and Strategy

  • Programme management of the BPRM funded ‘Global Innovations to Address Gender-based Violence in Conflict-Affected Humanitarian Emergencies’ project implemented with an immediate focus on the West Nile region.
  • Working closely with the MEAL team and the global PMs to operationalize the Theory of Change, developing a MEAL system to monitor progress and document the learning.
  • Working closely with the MEAL team to support the local anchor group (LAG) in the implementation of a capacity development plan, monitor the progress and document the learning.
  • Working closely with the local implementing partner, monitor the ToC progress and provide support.
  • Participate and actively contribute inputs in monthly programme meetings with the other country operations and the Global Programme Management Team.
  • Coordinate with the global management team at HQ on programmatic and grants related matters.
  • Based on the context, trends and priority needs, collaborate with the Head of Program, Program Development and Quality Coordinator, DRC protection manager and team members, communities and other key stakeholders to lead assessments and participatory project design processes, and develop technical inputs and associated budgets for protection-related concept notes, proposals and strategy.
  • Draft quarterly narrative reports and the final report for the project.
  • Contribute to business development processes for related opportunities.

Qualification:

  • University degree (preferably master-level) in law, social work, social sciences, development studies, or relevant fields.

Experience and technical competencies:

  • Minimum of 6 years of proven and successful track record experience designing and delivering gender-based violence and economic recovery programming for refugees and other vulnerable communities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the displacement context in Uganda, South Sudan and Democratic Republic of Congo.
  • Exceptional understanding of both global and national gender-based violence prevention and response standards and approaches.
  • Demonstrate exceptional strength and experience in detail-oriented, project cycle management of protection projects including monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of global and national standards and approaches pertaining to gender-based violence prevention and response, Experience designing technical components of protection programs, including demonstrated knowledge of protection information management systems.
  • Experience of working with BPRM or similar donors and international and national NGOs
  • Exceptional organizational and management skills.
  • Exceptional spoken and written English as well as analytical skills.
