IGCP Uganda looking for “Plant Operator”.

IGCP was formed in 1991 to address the long-term conservation of the mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) and its regional afromontane forest habitat in the Virunga Bwindi Landscape. Our aim has been to work together as a single gorilla conservation program in order to expand and consolidate the successes of the Mountain Gorilla Project and other initiatives at a regional level.

IGCP Job Vacancy 2023

Job Requirements:

  • Oversee Operation of the Plant.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot operating equipment.
  • Oversee machine operations.
  • Perform general housekeeping.
  • Ensure plant adheres to safety and environmental rules.
  • Conceptualize, design, and implement plant improvement projects.
  • Identify process deviations and perform root cause/corrective action.
  • Conduct area inspections and audits
  • Monitor and troubleshoot operating equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment faults are reported promptly.
  • Equipment pre-start and run sheets are completed as required.
  • Cleaning and maintenance of specialist PPE and equipment.
  • Maintain Effective use of the plant/equipment to ensure production rates/targets are met
  • Carrying out area audits
  • Participate in daily pre-start meetings.

Qualification:

  • A diploma in mechanical engineering/diploma in electrical engineering
  • A graduate or one who has worked in machine operations
  • Should be practical, Physically fit and Flexibility
  • Be comfortable working on a heavy industrial site
  • Be comfortable working with and around a variety of chemicals
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Problem solving ability
  • Good communication skills.
