Duties & Key Responsibilities

Programme Strategy

  • Keep the CD and PM updated and aligned on key donor strategies and priorities, and aware of specific calls for proposals, in conjunction with the Programme Funding Team
  • Where needed, support the development of Emergency Response strategies for the country programme.
  • Support the monitoring and review of the Tearfund country and partners contingency plan in relation to emergency response work
  • Ensure all donor submissions are in line with Tearfund’s Quality Standards, Project Cycle Management and the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), and reflect the priorities outlined in the programme.
  • Support partners in the identification of suitable sustainable livelihoods activities with tools for and strategies for beneficiary identification.
  • Support partners in developing and refining the DMEAL frameworks relevant to their contexts
  • Assess the relative success of different livelihoods approaches and feed into ongoing analysis and learning on resilience and emergency response work.
  • Support the identification, documentation, dissemination, and learning of relevant project initiatives within the country programme.

Qualification:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in development, humanitarian affairs, international relations, or other relevant course (or equivalent level of knowledge)

Experience

  • Substantial International INGO field experience ideally in programme management, proposal development (narrative and budgets) and/or donor reporting
  • At least 5 years’ experience of livelihoods, Agribuisness, Resilience, emergency and/or cash approaches.
  • Proven experience in humanitarian environments with successful examples of project implementation.
  • Understanding and application of relevant international standards.
  • Proven ability to develop winning proposals for public and/or private-sector donors
  • Experience in log frame development and Project Cycle Management, ideally in a complex environment
  • Experience in conveying stories and case studies to external audiences in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Training and partner capacity building
  • Monitoring & evaluation experience
  • Strategic planning/Project planning and Implementation
