IGCP South Africa looking for “Finance Associate”.

IGCP was formed in 1991 to address the long-term conservation of the mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) and its regional Afromontane Forest habitat in the Virunga Bwindi Landscape. Our aim has been to work together as a single gorilla conservation program in order to expand and consolidate the successes of the Mountain Gorilla Project and other initiatives at a regional level.

Duties and Responsibilities
Accounts payable:
- Assist in capturing transactions on accounting system.
- Assist in ensuring cash claim expenditure is accurately and timeously captured across the business.
- Assist in the preparation of processing payments onto the banking system.
Cashbooks:
- Assisting in processing entries on the bank accounts on the accounting system e.g. payment runs, bank charges, customer receipts and interest.
- Assist with preparation of bank reconciliations.
- Upload bank statements for all bank accounts onto the intranet.
Accounts receivable:
- Assist in invoicing customers on accounting system.
- Assist in customer reconciliations.
- Assist in ensuring timeous receipts from customers and follow-up on outstanding invoices.
Credit card claims:
- Assist in accurately and timeously capturing credit card expenditure across the business as required.
- Participate in outstanding claims investigations.
Vendor management:
- Participate in the new vendor creation process.
- Collate completed supplier accreditation forms with supporting documentation as required by the business
Economic Development and BEE reporting:
- Assist in preparing quarterly ED reporting submissions and collation of data.
- Assist in the preparation of data and sample selection for the BEE audits.
- Any other duties, as assigned by the line manager, in line with the role.
Eligibility Criteria
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
- Ability to manage time, prioritize and adherence to strict deadlines.
- High attention to detail and deadline driven.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize & prioritize.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- A willingness to work to strict guidelines.
- Good administrative skills.
- The ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
- Self-motivated with ability to work remotely.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
- Ability and willing to learn.
