GIZ Job Vacancy 2023
Job Description: The Good Financial Governance in Africa Programme is a pan-African regional programme based in Pretoria, South Africa, with the objective of capacitating change actors in taxation, budgeting, auditing, and legislative oversight in Africa. The programme cooperates with African public finance networks and supports the African Union Commission on the Project “Fighting Illicit Financial Flows in Africa” co-financed by the European Union, Finland, and Germany. The components External Audit and Legislative Oversight cooperate closely with the relevant regional networks African Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI) and its language sub-groups, as well as the African Organisation of Public Account Committees (AFROPAC).
Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s degree in political science, economics, law, development studies, or other relevant studies
- First work experience in development cooperation, in project implementation in African partner countries of German Development Cooperation, and familiarity with the basic concepts, policies and strategies of German Development Cooperation are an asset
- Technical expertise in good governance, accountability and transparency and a strong motivation to work on external audit and legislative oversight
- Political sensitivity and versatile in interacting with representatives of government at different levels and with different cultural backgrounds
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to act diplomatically and interculturally sensitive and a sound awareness of gender issues
- A dedicated, reliable team player, work solution-oriented and a high degree of commitment orientation
- Business fluent in English and French; German language skills are an asset
