IGCP was formed in 1991 to address the long-term conservation of the mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) and its regional Afromontane Forest habitat in the Virunga Bwindi Landscape. Our aim has been to work together as a single gorilla conservation program in order to expand and consolidate the successes of the Mountain Gorilla Project and other initiatives at a regional level.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of the organisation’s IT policy through developing work plans.
  • Maintain computer systems and software to ensure they are running smoothly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise with computers or software.
  • Implement security measures to protect computer systems from viruses and unauthorized access.
  • Manage the organisation’s database and ensure data backups are made regularly.
  • Help users with computer-related problems and offer advice on how to use software or hardware appropriately.
  • Test and evaluate new hardware and software to determine if they are suitable for the organisation.
  • Provide training to employees on how to use computer systems and software effectively.
  • Keeps up to date with advancements in computing technology and recommends upgrades or changes as necessary.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a team.
