DRC Job Vacancy 2023
Overall purpose of the role: The Emergency Manager has overall responsibility for the day to day management of DRC’s emergency programming portfolio within geographical area of responsibility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project manager for DRC’s emergency grants in camp and non-camp based settings. Responsible for ensuring projects are on time, budget, and scope.
- Lead the organisation and implementation of emergency activities through both partners and direct implementation, including cash and voucher programming, in accordance with DRC guidelines, program objectives and accountability principles to deliver life-saving emergency assistance to beneficiaries
- Manage relationship with emergency partners, in coordination with Partnerships Coordinator
- Represent DRC with relevant donors, partners and local authorities and coordinate with distribution actors and other DRC programmes when necessary;
- Advise on all Area Emergency field assessments, surveys, needs assessments, market assessment and monitoring, and other data collection to guide programming – with Emergency MEAL Coordinator
Qualification:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, social work, international development, or other relevant field (e.g. political science, international development, or economics) orfrom a recognized institution.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of practical experience in the sector area in a management position, with significant experience in the field of humanitarian response for an international NGO or UN agency.
- Proven experience designing and implementing emergency response interventions.
- Experience working with Cash and Voucher programming
