UNISFA was approved on 27 June 2011 by the United Nations Security Council in United Nations Security Council Resolution 1990 after a flareup in the South Kordofan conflict earlier in June 2011.

Org. Setting and Reporting: These positions are located in the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), in the Abyei Administrative Area. The incumbent will report to the Team Leader or their designate and is expected to cover team sites and locations within the Abyei Administrative Area as assigned.
Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of three (03) years of experience in providing interpretation/translation services is required.
Languages:
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required; fluency in Arabic or Dinka is required.
