UNDP Job Vacancy 2023
Duties & Responsibilities: Under the overall guidance of the Country Representative, and direct supervision of the Security Specialist, with a matrix reporting line to Project Manager, the Security Assistant assists in the implementation of security operations and all matters relating to the management of safety and security for UN Women personnel in the country in South Sudan. The incumbent will be expected to acquire safety and security information and produce IT-generated reports suitable for distribution to UN Women Senior Management and staff.
Eligibility Criteria
Education and certification:
- Secondary education. University Degree or equivalent in Political Science, Military Studies, Security Management, Management, or a relevant field is desirable.
Experience:
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in security including corporate security, military or police, UN system, or an international organization.
Other Skills and Requirements:
- Knowledge of HF and VHF radio operation;
- Experience in diplomatic security, protection, and intelligence is considered an asset;
- Experience in supporting the investigation, information gathering, and analysis would be an asset;
- Knowledge of host country safety codes;
- Computer literacy in Word, Excel (crime stats), PowerPoint, MS Access, Google Earth, and GIS applications and internet applications are compulsory Familiarity with Police and Military security operations would be a highly valued asset;
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English;
- Knowledge of Arabic or other official UN working languages is an added advantage.
