UNICEF Job Vacancy 2023

Main Duties and Responsibilities: The purpose of this consultancy (115 days) is to provide technical support, trainings and capacity building to local partners to improve the quality of GBV services at women and girl friendly spaces (WGFS), One-Stop Centres (OSC) and safe shelters. The GBV Consultant will be based in Juba with frequent travel to states where UNICEF partners are operating. The consultant will receive overall guidance and day-to-day supervision from the GBV Specialist. S/he will work closely with the UNICEF Child Protection team based in field offices and UNICEF GBV partners. This will include conducting a technical and institutional capacity needs assessment of UNICEF partners and developing a capacity strengthening plan on key areas including, but not limited to, GBV case management and PSS, GBV minimum standards, working with adolescent girls and improving GBV referral systems.

Eligibility Criteria

  • University degree in psychology, social work, gender studies or in other similar fields.
  • A minimum of 5 years of GBV programming experience with either the UN and/or NGO.
  • Strong understanding of GBV case management including care for child survivors and programming approaches, practices, and applications i.e., GBViE Minimum Standards and Interagency GBV Case Management guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively liaise with people in a wide range of functions in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to collect, collate and analyse data in an effective manner and strong writing skills.
  • Proven experience of planning and facilitating trainings, workshops and other capacity building modalities.
  • Ability to work independently and productively, with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work productively in a team and independently, and to handle requests or issues as they arise.
