UNMISS Job Vacancy 2023

Org. Setting and Reporting: This position is located in the Transport Section of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) in Juba, which is classified as “E” category and a non-family duty station. The Transport Officer will directly report to the Deputy Chief Transport Officer.

Eligibility Criteria

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Job – Specific Qualification:

  • A valid national driving license is required. Must attach license in the “Other Information” section in the application.
  • Knowledge of UN Procurement rules and certifications of UN Procurement Training Campus (all modules) is required. Must attach certificate in the “Other Information” section in the application.
  • Relevant training/certification in Transport Management is desirable. Must attach certificate in the “Other Information” section in the application.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in motor vehicle transport operations, multi-modal transportation, logistics management or a related field in a UN entity or similar international or NGO organization is required. The minimum years of relevant experience are reduced to 5 years for candidates who possess a first level University degree.
  • At least four (4) years of experience in transport/fleet management and planning in an international environment, in particular in United Nations peacekeeping operations, or experience gained from UN Agencies and NGOs in an international environment is required,

Languages:

  • English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position(s) advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
