WFP Job Vacancy 2023

Job Purpose: The purpose of this role is to contribute to the achievement of the dual objectives of the Regional Evaluation Strategy through direct support to the Southern Africa Regional Bureau and Country Offices in the region, and specifically to the implementation of the Regional Evaluation Strategy and annual Regional Evaluation Plans. Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Head of the Regional Evaluation Unit and in close coordination with other RB staff, the Evaluation Officer will act as the focal point within the evaluation unit on all matters related to the Evaluation Management Information System (EMIS), data analysis, including analysis of existing/secondary data to inform evaluation design, data extraction from corporate and external systems, analysis and presentation of data collected by evaluations. The Evaluation Officer will be the Evaluation Unit focal point in the RB data working group. The Evaluation Officer will always work in adherence to norms and standards for Evaluation, and observance of the code of conduct for the Evaluation profession within the United Nations.

Eligibility Criteria

Education:

  • Advanced University Degree in Social Sciences, (applied) Statistics, Development Economics, Performance Management, Monitoring and Evaluation or other related fields, or First University degree with additional years of relevant work experience and/or training/courses.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience in Monitoring & Evaluation activities using a variety of quantitative and qualitative analytical tools and methods.

Language:

  • International Professional: Fluency (level C) in English language. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of French and/or Portuguese.
