UNECA Job Vacancy 2023
Duties and Responsibilities: Under the general guidance of the Project Manager and the direct supervision of designated ECA Task Officers and the Government of Burundi Focal Point, the National Consultant will perform the following tasks:
- participate a train-the-trainer seminar focusing on EVA analysis methodologies and trade in services;
- (co-organize and facilitate as an instructor, a national training seminar to develop the skills of decision-makers and other national stakeholders to measure service value chains and formulate policies in the financial sector. The consultant will work in close collaboration with an international consultant (expert in trade in services and EVA), another national consultant (quantification of EVA), the focal point of the government of Burundi, and the project team of ECA when preparing training materials. The seminar will be held in Burundi.
- undertake consultations at the national level and collect relevant additional information and data, allowing for a thorough analysis of the financial services sector and preparation of a national action plan to implement policies for the development of trade in financial services , gender-sensitive and which promote the integration of the sector in the TRCs and GVCs, and the effective implementation of the ZLECAf. Policy proposals should consider the impacts of COVID-19 and the Russian-Ukrainian crisis on the targeted sector and recovery solutions, if any. The national consultant will work closely with the national project focal point, relevant national stakeholders, the international consultant and the second national consultant (quantitative analyst). Exchanges with the international consultant will be done remotely and according to a mutually agreed schedule;
- co-organize and lead the national workshop for the validation of study reports and the national action plan, in collaboration with the government focal point and the ECA project team;
- (take part in an international multi-stakeholder workshop to exchange experiences, including, among others, the other beneficiary countries of this project;
- respond to other ad hoc requests within the framework of this project and interact regularly with the ECA project team;

Qualification & Experience:
