Job Description: Under the direct supervision of the Field Coordinator, the Safe Programming/Protection Mainstreaming Officer will support implementation of protection mainstreaming interventions to incorporate protection principles and promote meaningful access, safety, and dignity throughout IRC Integrated health, nutrition, and protection response in Hagadera refugee camp.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Development of effective training materials to support protection mainstreaming and adherence to key protection principles.
  • Organizing and delivering trainings and workshops on protection mainstreaming, and other cross cutting issues like disability inclusion, PSEA, and fraud/corruption prevention
  • Update/review the Standard Operating Procedures and feedback plans together with the Protection Manager and Monitoring and Evaluation department.
  • In collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation, Client Feedback Assistant, provide support in conducting client satisfaction surveys, consulting at risk groups on their preferences, needs and aspirations, reviewing and responding to client feedback.
  • Conducting accessibility audits, and in liaison with Monitoring and Evaluation department, conduct Do No Harm assessments to ensure that project interventions are accessible, safe, and meets the needs of the affected population.
  • Support technological improvement of proactive and reactive feedback mechanisms to collect client feedback.

Qualification & Experience:

  • University degree in Law, Human rights, Political/Social Sciences, Development Studies or related field
  • At least five years of meaningful experience in protection programming, working with crisis affected populations, or other related humanitarian interventions.
  • Demonstrated experience using international human rights standards in protection programming
  • Ability to work with a broad spectrum of people successfully and professionally.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination, and safety of clients always
  • Takes ownership for achieving organization’s priorities and assumes responsibility for own action and delegated work.
  • Solid analytical problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in conducting protection assessments, and client satisfaction surveys
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and mobile data collection with strong emphasis on KoBo and CommCare.
  • Project management, staff management and capacity building.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills in English.
