IGCP Kenya looking for “Telecommunication Supervisor”.

IGCP was formed in 1991 to address the long-term conservation of the mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) and its regional afromontane forest habitat in the Virunga Bwindi Landscape. Our aim has been to work together as a single gorilla conservation program in order to expand and consolidate the successes of the Mountain Gorilla Project and other initiatives at a regional level.

IGCP Job Vacancy 2023
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises a small technical staff by interviewing, recommending for hire, training, assigning and reviewing work, terminating, and evaluating performance of incumbents.
- Contacts and provides various emergency personnel with details of situation to aid in their response, and records and logs outgoing information.
- Conducts routine checks on field personnel recording time, location, and activity.
- Responds to requests for information, by researching records, explaining rules and regulations, inquiring on terminal, and providing requestor with written and verbal findings.
- Types and maintains logs on all received and transmitted messages. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification & Experience:
- A diploma in Telecommunication plus one year of vocational or similar training in radio/communications is required.
- 3 years of experience involving radio dispatch, operation of voice communications equipment, or a related field.
- Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures. Knowledge of State Communications Commission rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of operating procedures for telecommunications equipment.
- Ability to communicate verbal radio transmissions.
- Ability to operate on standard office equipment and maintain records. Ability to plan, organize, and oversee the work of subordinates. Ability to prepare oral and written information.
- Excellent management and leadership skills.
- Successful candidates with relevant experience and recognized expertise in large onshore/offshore oil and gas EPC projects will be preferred.
