UNODC Job Vacancy 2023

Duties and Responsibilities:

The consultant shall also work in close technical cooperation with the Associate Programme Officers under the Criminal Justice Programme in ROEA in performing the following tasks including:

Coordinate the implementation of activities leading up to: development of an updated strategic document for the ODPP, identified green programming initiatives, operationalizing the Office of Change Management and other initiatives of the ODPP.
Provide substantive support with regard to consultative and other meetings, workshops, conferences, etc., to include proposing agenda topics, identifying suitable participants, preparation of documents and presentations on key subject matter areas.
Providing substantive support while undertaking and participating in local missions, including provision of guidance to external consultants, government officials and other parties and drafting mission summaries.
Prepare operational guidelines, as and when required, for enhanced programme planning and coordination.
Provide regular technical advice on operational matters relating to implementation of the project.
Maintain and provide a record of reports and media items for the implemented activities of project.

Qualification & Experience:

An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in law, international relations, criminal justice, human rights, political science, or criminology is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with a minimum of two years of relevant working experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
A minimum two years of experience working in crime prevention and criminal justice, human rights and/or related fields is required.
Experience working with Eastern Africa countries in particular Kenya is required.
Experience in working with EU funded projects is required.
Experience working with criminal justice practitioners is desirable.
Experience in planning and producing interactive training materials and tools is required.

Languages:

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
