The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is a global communion of national and regional Lutheran denominations headquartered in the Ecumenical Centre in Geneva, Switzerland. The federation was founded in the Swedish city of Lund in the aftermath of the Second World War in 1947 to coordinate the activities of the many differing Lutheran churches. Since 1984, the member churches are in pulpit and altar fellowship, with common doctrine as the basis of membership and mission activity.

LWF Job Vacancy 2023
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Task and deliverables
- Provide the interpretation from:
- English to French, French to English
- English to Spanish, Spanish to English
- French to Spanish, Spanish to French
- Provide simultaneous interpretation for persons on and offline
- Preparation of interpretation with the provided materials
- Accept instructions from conference organizer
Position in Organization:
- Purpose: Simultaneous interpretation English – French – Spanish
- Number of participants needing interpretation: approx. 40
- Time frame: 5 days
- Workplace: Kampala/Entebbe or online support
- Working languages: English, French, Spanish.
- Location: Kampala/Entebbe or online – venue to be confirmed
- The closing date for applications: 21 June 2023
Qualification:
- Fluency in the working languages (English, Spanish and French)
- Demonstrated experience in providing simultaneous interpretation services
- Knowledge of Financial terminology is an added advantage
- Practical experience using online interpretation platforms such as Zoom
- Higher education in linguistics, business management, accounting, economics or any other related field.
- At least 2 years of work experience in interpretation and translation
- At least three references for multi-day interpretation experience
- Fluent knowledge of written and spoken French language is obligatory
- Fluent knowledge of written and spoken English language is obligatory
- Fluent knowledge of written and spoken Spanish language is obligatory
