IGCP Kenya looking for “Junior Accountant”.

IGCP was formed in 1991 to address the long-term conservation of the mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) and its regional afromontane forest habitat in the Virunga Bwindi Landscape. Our aim has been to work together as a single gorilla conservation program in order to expand and consolidate the successes of the Mountain Gorilla Project and other initiatives at a regional level.

About the Role: The Junior Accountant will actively participate in maintaining the financial health of the company through day-to-day management of financial transactions and procedures. The job holder should have working knowledge of financial account management, maintenance of general ledgers, fiscal compliance, audits, invoicing, financial reporting and vendor management.
Financial Accounting:
- Balance and maintain accurate ledgers in ZohoBooks
- Reconcile cash and bank entries with deposits and expenses on a daily basis
- Ensure all transactions have the necessary supporting documents which are stored (i) in ZohoBooks attached to the relevant transaction (ii) in Zoho Workdrive and (iii) where applicable for physical files
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related course from a recognized university
- CPA certification
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a fast paced work environment
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
- Computer Literacy: Microsoft Packages
- Experience using financial software
