The Role: Oxfam International’s Africa Platform is looking for Grants Accountant who has finance responsibilities for the accurate, timely and efficient reporting and compliance with all regulatory and donor requirements. This includes donor reports, donor/Oxfam budgets for new projects/contracts, and supporting the financial management and reporting of Oxfam International.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help review all financial grant data captured by the finance assistants in the finance system for accuracy and completeness.
- To ensure the maintenance of an effective budget monitoring and reporting system through the preparation of budget controls (variance analysis reports) for all assigned projects.
- Help clear all unauthorized grant payments including old grants out of the system through project revisioning, ensuring that all financial information is accurately uploaded into the system and timely
- Work with the Finance SSC in ensuring that all financial transactions related to Oi A grants are accurately and timely input into D365 and other systems.
- To be directly involved with all non-operational partner agreements and arrangements and play a key role in directing operational staff to ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
Qualification & Experience:
- Appropriate accounting qualification supported by membership of a relevant professional body (eg. Chartered or Certified Accounting body)
- Experience in donor reporting and donor compliance
- Experience in financial management regulations for different international donors
- Experience in financial accounting including solutions focused customer service skills
- Significant experience with an ERP finance system;
- High levels of computer literacy with advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- A high level of self-motivation, proven initiative and ability to work with limited supervisor, demonstrating excellent time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English
