The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is the United Nations programme for human settlements and sustainable urban development. It was established in 1978 as an outcome of the first United Nations Conference on Human Settlements and Sustainable Urban Development (Habitat I) held in Vancouver, Canada, in 1976. UN-Habitat maintains its headquarters at the United Nations Office at Nairobi, Kenya. It is mandated by the United Nations General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all. It is a member of the United Nations Development Group. The mandate of UN-Habitat derives from the Habitat Agenda, adopted by the United Nations Conference on Human Settlements (Habitat II) in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1996.

UN Habitat Job Vacancy 2023
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the overall supervision and oversight from the Senior Coordination Officer, the incumbent will be required to perform the following functions:
- Generate report on data collected and updates on UN-Habitat’s support to LDCs and SIDS in mainstreaming South-South and Triangular Cooperation, its results, impacts and outcomes.
- Design a reliable, handy and effective database for RPD for use by projects managers and Agency-wide starting with the Regional Offices and Country Managers.
- Develop a technical presentation of the tool and testing processes for quality control and adjustments.
- Assume any other responsibilities and duties as instructed by the supervising officer in RPD.
Qualification & Experience:
- Advanced university degree in ICT, computer science, information technology, or affiliated fields. or a related field is required.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in projects development, research and documentation, preparation of planning materials (briefs, maps and graphical material using computer assisted design tools), trainings etc is required.
- Experience in activities of the United Nations, both in field projects and policy dialogue with stakeholders is desirable.
